TIARC Thrift Store is an employment skills training site for refugee and immigrant women seeking employment. The training includes three parts: English literacy class, Basic Computer Training and On-the-Job Training.
The participants will learn:
- Punctuality and appropriate personal appearance
- Workers’ responsibilities and rights
- Neatness of work area
- Care of store’s supplies and equipment
- Organization/Planning of work
- Communication with coworkers
- Customer service skills
- Inventory and cash register
- Daily reconciliation and basic store management
Duration of the training is up to 6 months.
